The
Merlot Group, LLC provides Advertising, Marketing, Design, Web, Printing
and Public Relations / Communication services to clients of any size
and industry. We pride ourselves in listening, learning and truly understanding
the aspirations and goals of our clients in order to deliver only the
very best. As we work on projects, we help our clients gain insight
into their business, industry and marketing environment.
As we continue to expand our client base, we aspire to continue delivering
the highest quality products through the hands of our growing number
of extraordinary employees. Established, time proven marketing and advertising
products, to the latest cutting-edge technologies and processes, we
are dedicated to delivering what our clients need to be successful.
In November of 2003 Shawn W. Masters and Steve Mullin combined their
talents and began plans to form The Merlot Group. In January, 2004,
The Merlot Group, LLC was born... but the seeds were planted 10 years
before. As two young executives fresh out of college climbing the corporate
ladder, little did they know that it was just the foundation for something
far greater. The separate paths of Masters and Mullin met in the waning
days of 2001 at wireless communications company where Shawn was the
Chief Financial Officer and Steve was an account executive making ends
meet as he worked to grow his independent consulting and design company.
Complimenting talents and common goals continued to show that they would
make a great team. Fortunately, circumstances soon led them to the opportunity.
Shawn W. Masters
Senior Partner
Shawn Masters is a resident of Covington, Kentucky, and a graduate
of the University of Kentucky. With a degree in finance and business
management, he spent over 10 years in the banking industry before leaving
to pursue a career as the Chief Financial Officer of a wireless communications
company. In November 2003, after more than three years as CFO, Masters
left the company and began plans for launching The Merlot Group. In
addition to The Merlot Group, he is a partner in Noah's Art, Inc.(Hair
salons). Additionally, he is involved in several civic minded organizations,
and is closely associated with or serves on the board of the following:
The Covington Business Council, The Dinsmore Homestead Foundation, Rabbit
Hash Historical Society, Johnson-Wilson Cemetery Stewards Association,
and the Covington Vacant Properties Commission.
Steve Mullin
Senior Partner
After graduating on the dean's list from Miami University in Oxford,
Ohio with a degree in Graphic Design and Marketing, Steve Mullin began
a career in corporate America as a sales engineer with an international
division of a Detroit Diesel engine distributor. Six years were spent
in this sales and marketing position before he made his way into the
role of Global materials manager. Two years later, and after 8 years
in the international business, marketing and materials management community,
he applied his business skills to forming his own consulting and design
company. Helping businesses communicate, problem-solve and market products
and services seems to be a natural fit for Steve, as do the creative
and design challenges. As a business consultant and graphic designer,
he has worked with companies in many diverse industries: Health Care,
Financial, Wireless Communications, Professional Motorcycle Racing,
Salons, Churches, Photographers, Marine Suppliers, Consulting Groups,
and many others. From corporate identity and logo creation and complete
business and marketing plans to web development and Information Technology,
Steve continues to grow his knowledge and talents to better serve the
needs of The Merlot Group's growing client base.
Emilie Nerl
Graphic Designer/Account Executive
Making
her way through the media jungle, Emilie Nerl has demonstrated that
she can do just about anything she sets her mind to. Graduating in May
2002 from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor's in Radio/Television
Production, and experience in various fields of visual media, she entered
the world of news as a Production Assistant with WLWT-TV. While at WLWT-TV,
Emilie decided to expand her creative outlet and started working toward
a degree in Graphic Design. Shortly after, she accepted a position with
Radio Cincinnati, Inc. as a sales assistant. There she provided creative
support for three radio stations and a local parenting publication.
In less than a year she was promoted to Lead Sales Assistant where she
expanded her managerial skills. In this position she supervised a team
of three people in the support of a 50 person sales staff, creating
ads, flyers, logos, and posters for various events in the Tri-State.
Emilie joined The Merlot Group in September 2005, where she continues
to apply and grow her graphic design and account executive talents.
Meghan
Ferguson
Account Executive
Graduating from East Central High School with Indiana's Honor Diploma,
Meghan received The Seton Scholarship from The College of Mount Saint
Joseph for academic excellence. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts,
double concentration in Marketing and Management, she also worked toward
a minor in Computer Information Systems. While attending college, she
was actively involved in church volunteer work, and spent some time
in Juarez, Mexico and border cities building adobe homes for underprivileged
families. Shortly after college, she completed her Real Estate school
at A-Pass Weikel. Meghan started her Real Estate career while living
in the artistic Mecca of Venice Beach in Los Angeles, California as
an assistant to the president of Power Properties, a commercial brokerage
in Beverly Hills. Upon returning to the Tri-State, Meghan found all
of the wonderful elements she loved about California, minus the great
weather, here in Covington. The residential and commercial developments,
the embracement of the arts and proximity to a powerful vessel of water,
all with the added bonus of the small town charm. Though her main profession
has been Real Estate, Meghan believes in the vision of the Merlot Group
and decided to join the team. "First a client, I have witnessed
the professionalism and profitability this group provides".
